A small blood sample (usually 10 to 20 millilitres) is taken from your arm and placed into a centrifuge. The process separates the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected or applied to the skin using microneedling techniques.

The procedure takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Mild redness or swelling may occur immediately afterward, similar to light sunburn, and subsides within 24 to 48 hours.

Results develop gradually over several weeks as collagen remodelling occurs, with optimal results typically seen after a course of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.

  • PRP has been used in medicine for decades to accelerate healing in sports injuries and surgery before becoming a cosmetic treatment.
  • It is nicknamed the “vampire facial” because it uses your own blood-derived plasma.
  • The plasma used is rich in growth factors that naturally stimulate collagen and cell renewal.
  • PRP is suitable for both men and women and can be used on the scalp to encourage hair regrowth.
  • Since the plasma comes from your own body, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction.

Proper aftercare supports healing, reduces downtime, and enhances treatment results.

Immediately After Treatment (First 24 Hours)

  • Expect mild redness, tightness, and warmth in the treated area. This is normal and part of the healing process.
  • Do not touch, rub, or wash the treated area for at least six hours.
  • Avoid applying makeup, creams, or skincare products until the following day.
  • Avoid exposure to heat sources such as saunas, steam rooms, and sunbeds.

  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid sweating or heavy activity.
  • If needed, apply a cold compress gently to reduce swelling or discomfort.
  • Sleep on clean pillow case.

  • Follow your recommended treatment plan — most clients require a course of three to four treatments spaced several weeks apart.
